Reproductive Endocrinologist & Infertility specialist. Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. Triple board-certified.
Dr. Mitwally is known world-wide for the invention of a new infertility treatment — the Aromatase Inhibitor, Letrozole — and holds several patents on its use for fertility. His 2001 paper was selected by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as one of the 25 historic papers in 75 years of reproductive medicine.
He completed his medical school in Egypt in 1990 as the top graduate of his class. After residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, he moved to the United States in 1997 for a second residency at the University at Buffalo and four fellowships in reproductive sciences, reproductive genetics, and reproductive endocrinology & infertility — at West Virginia University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Toronto, and Wayne State.
Originally from Egypt, he runs Mitwally Fertility Clinic with his wife and four sons, with locations in San Antonio, Texas and Westerville, Ohio.
